Spending some time to explore the Marina Bay in Singapore is a must since it is by the bay area as well as reaches to the business and bustling retail districts of the city. Here I discovered leisure spots and dining destinations that are trendy and state of the art.
How to Explore?
It is best to stroll by the Bay area, especially at sunset. That is what I did to enjoy the views from the waterfront here. The architecture of the buildings in this area, as well as the cityscape that is seen from here, is breathtaking. Iconic is the Merlion which is the national icon of the city. It used to be by the Singapore River but has now been moved to Marina Bay. Among the different buildings here I admired the Marina Bay Sands as well as the Esplanade that has a unique durian shape.
Places to Stop by
The daytime or early evening hours are an ideal time to come by Gardens by the Bay. You will enjoy the views here, especially at Supertree Grove. If you come here with your children you can visit the garden water play area for them to enjoy.
I also stopped by the Marina Bay Cruise Center. The site of the large cruise liners here is breathtaking. The waterfront promenade has artistic sculptures, musical performances as well as dragon boat races that never fail to entertain.
I also stopped by the ArtScience Museum as well as the Red Dot Design Museum here. While ArtScience Museum has touring exhibitions the cultural exhibits at the latter are riveting, to say the least.
Places to Eat and Shop
To say the least, I was spoilt for choice when it came to places where I could eat. One of the unique places I stopped by is microbrewery Level 33 which is located on Marina Bay financial center. The sky-high views are wonderful to enjoy with mugs of artisanal beer.
